The Virtual Boxwell Staff is very sad to announce the passing of Pearl Schleicher. Pearl, along with her husband John and sister Estelle–Ms. Bea, was Boxwell’s cook from the early 1960s until the mid-1990s. The obituary from The Tennessean is reprinted below. passed away November 11, 2004. She was preceded in death by husband, John D. Schleicher and by son, James William Schleicher. She is survived by
grandchildren, John Schleicher, Jeffrey Schleicher, Tony Schleicher and Karen Fierce; niece, Barbara Davis; sister, Lucille Buchanan, and brother, Melvin Jones. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lane Church of Christ with Brother Mark Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 12 p.m. until the service at the church. John Schleicher, Jeffrey Schleicher, Tony Schleicher, Russell Parham, Jeremy Jones and Roger Brewington will serve as Pallbearers. Derrick Jones and David Jones will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
