The Centennial Reunion

Our next Reunion is scheduled for July 2021, which will be the centennial of the very first Boxwell in 1921.  Our final day for our online contact update is July 5.  So please, take a moment to update your information.

And then… share this link with any other camp staff friends you have.  We want to see everyone in October and again next year!

Reunion Day V

The fifth reunion in 2014 was part of an alumni push by the Council.  The idea was to have a reunion every five years with the 2014 reunion as the first of this series.  When it became clear that the Centennial was 2020-2021, having a reunion in 2019 did not make much sense!  The 2014 Reunion was similar to the first reunion in terms of format and program.  The big difference was that this reunion was a sponsored event, meaning that participants could come for free.  This Reunion also had booths for recording camp stories and scanning old camp photos.

Reunion Day IV

The fourth reunion in 2009 was a bit of an oddity.  Technically, it was not advertised as a reunion, but as a 50th Anniversary celebration of Boxwell Reservation at Old Hickory Lake.  It was more council driven and happened after camp was over.  As a result, there were no program areas to visit and no dinner or campfire. For the most part, the 2009 event was really a big afternoon-long reception.

Reunion Day III

There was a long gap between the second and third reunion, but the third Reunion finally came together in the summer of 1999.  The Reunion followed a similar pattern as the first two and for the first time there was discussion of a Boxwell Museum, perhaps in the now abandoned Pump House.  Clearly, this never materialized, but the idea of housing camp history somewhere has been floating around for awhile.

Reunion Day II

The same group who were responsible for the first reunion also planned and executed the second reunion in 1989.  It was not as well attended as the first reunion, but followed a similar format in terms of the day itself.
