The Passing of Stephen Sexton

The VirtualBoxwell Team is sad to report the passing of Stephen Sexton.  Stephen was a staff member of the Stahlman staff from 1973 to 1975. He began his run as a program aide and then moved to the waterfront for his final two summers.  Sadly, we don’t know much about Brian’s life after camp.  He married and had two children, a son and a daughter.  He passed in 1991 at the age of 33.  As we update our rolls ahead of the 2026 reunion, we just discovered this.

As Stephen passed in 1991, there is no online obituary we can post.  However, Stephen should be seen here as part of the 1974 Camp Stahlman staff.

The Passing of Brian Rowen

The VirtualBoxwell Team is sad to report the passing of Brian Rowen.  Brian was a staff member of both Stahlman and Craig, working from 1973 to 1975. He started in Stahlman’s kitchen, then moved to the Trading Post and finally the Con-Yard. Sadly, we don’t know much about Brian’s life after camp, other than he was married for twenty-two years.  He passed in 2011 at the age of 53.

The Passing of Dorothy Reece

The VirtualBoxwell Team is sorry to report the passing of Dorothy May Reece. Dorothy was an Assistant Cook in the Stahlman Dining Hall from 1976 to 1985, a full decade run with Boxwell. We have almost no information on Dorothy.  She passed at the age of 80 in 2012 and was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.  She was survived by her three children and (in 2012) her two brothers and two sisters.
