The VirtualBoxwell Team is sad to report the passing to Philip Pratt. Philip joined the Parnell staff in 1996 as a member of the Activity Yard. His innocent-looking face and youthful exuberance earned him the nickname “Timmy Tenderfoot,” which he carried with him throughout his years on staff. He remained on the Craig staff until 2001, eventually becoming director of the Davy Crockett Program. Philip passed on Saturday, July 5. He left behind his wife and two children, Isaac and Emmaline, who were both also staff members.
The family chose to post his obituary to his Facebook page, which we include below. Services will be held Friday, July 11 at 452 Motlow Road, Tullahoma, TN with visitation from 3-5 and memorial beginning at 5pm. Included here is a photo of Philip at Camp Craig, ca. 1999.

Philip Byron Pratt, 43, of Tullahoma TN, passed from this life on July 5, 2025. He was
born to Harvey and Carol Pratt on April 20, 1982. Philip loved the outdoors and was
always busy using his Eagle Scout skills to hunt, fish or build something. He was very
active with his children in the Scouting community and was very proud to watch them
develop into Eagle Scouts. Philip loved to travel and go on adventures! He enjoyed
kayaking, hiking and finding new places to explore. More than anything, Philip loved his
family. He was a beloved brother, father, uncle and friend to so many. His favorite thing
to do was gather all the ones he loved and cook a big meal. This might have taken
hours to prepare and extend well past dinner time, but it was worth the wait! Philip was
known for his big smile, sweet spirit and helping hand to anyone that needed it. To
know Philp was to love him, and if you knew him, you were his friend. Philip was the
guy who always knew a guy. He used those connections to pull people together and
created a huge community of people that all bonded over one friendship. He was so
loved, and he will be so missed. Philip was survived by his two beautiful children, Isaac
and Emmaline Pratt and their mother, Jessica, his father, Harvey Pratt, siblings Michael
Pratt, Amy Pratt, Anita (Jerry) Wilkinson, Stephanie (Shannon) Amos, and Patrick
(Madina) Pratt and nieces and nephews Chandise (Timothy) Orr, Bryce (Nicole) Amos,
Brittany (Kevin) Conn, Kai Croft, Ava Wilkinson and Aria Pratt. A celebration of life
ceremony will be held on Friday, July 11th from 3pm-5pm for visitation. 5pm will start his memorial held at 452 Motlow Rd, Tullahoma TN. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to the Isaac and Emmaline Pratt college fund
University of Tennessee Chattanooga.
